This is a very important and prestigious project of an international scope. The first one of the planned two eighteen-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Courses will be opened in 2011. In the history of this construction, difficult moments occurred as well. The originally hired Slovak professional construction company did not follow the USGA specifications when performing the construction works neither it complied with the construction standards required both by the Jack Nicklaus Design representatives and the investor. This discrepancy in regards to quality of the provided work led to the investor’s decision to end the cooperation with this supplier in spring 2009, before the golf course was finished. Czech Golf Development was then hired as the main technical and construction work supervisor to make sure a leadership was provided and repetition of the original flaws prevented. The cooperation started in June 2009. After finishing in-depth observation and studies of the finished work, we suggested to the investor to completely redo the greens, the finished irrigation installations at all teeing areas as well as a full redo of the installed drainage system. In short, to redo all, till that point finished, construction work. Czech Golf Development was then, in the summer, asked to take over the construction site management and work together with Jack Nicklaus Design representatives on meeting the deadlines for the final seeding of the entire course set on the end of September 2009. Another activity provided by Czech Golf Development was geodesy and survey of the golf course construction site, including processing of the as-built plan.

The course is located in the beautiful forest environment of Male Karpaty foothills, in the area of drift-sand and pine-trees. The terrain character allowed for beautiful layout of holes upon an overall 30 metres (98.5 feet) of elevation. A new experience with golf course construction was obtained owing to the entirely sand subsoil. Part of the construction was also spreading 4 hectares (almost 10 acres) of sod.

Modern type, luxurious resort situated amidst beautiful nature with the emphasis on quality and precision will most certainly become a sought after golf destination among all golfers, not only the Czech and Slovak players. Professional approach of Jack Nicklaus Design assured a flawless routine throughout construction of this golf project with typical character features of a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course placing the main emphasis on a fair game strategy.

Czech Golf Development highly values its cooperation with the Gold Golf Senica resort and believes its team members helped salvage this exceptional project from a destiny of a below-average course. Using its professional expertise and years of experience in the field of golf course construction, Czech Golf Development helped make it a professionally built and fully functional sport golf course with the ambition to host international tournaments of the European PGA tour.

Together with the rest of the suppliers of the golf course, Czech Golf Development provided several expert interviews for a golf programme on a Slovak television TVA during the construction of the golf course in 2009.
