Great passion for golf


At the beginning of each of our professional careers, there was great passion for the play of golf and the excitement it provides us with. Whenever possible, we have stayed at the course from dusk till dawn. This has been the source of our understanding that golf is not simply about the way of controlling the swing, making the right decisions on the type of stroke and choosing a ball with the right hardness. Should we enjoy the play, a golf course must be, for Pavel Hrdina and Honza Pištěk, well groomed and maintained using finely tuned specialised tools, for Michal Čermák, the grass must be in the optimal condition owing to the right irrigation cycle, and for Jakub Červenka, the course must be technically and technologically well built, fit the landscape and be designed in a way that is fair from the golf point of view. Today, we know that only when all the above elements are in harmony, the much sought after joy from playing golf may be achieved. Only when not disturbed by imperfections and flaws, unprofessional ways of doing things and obvious ignorance, we may enjoy the play. This knowledge enables us to focus on improvements necessary in the Czech Republic’s golf course conditions.

To play golf at good courses


This desire is still our main aspiration we strive to accomplish. It is this very motivation that has been giving us the strength to jump out of our beds early to arrive at the construction site at dawn and stay long after sun set to finish the started job with great excitement under the lights of our machines.

Designing the courses from the player’s perspective


We always feel the same excitement and inner vibration when designing a golf course. It is this feeling, the desire to create and the urge to design and build a great, extraordinary and beautiful hole after hole that allows us to work diligently. To look for various layouts and combinations of types of holes and lengths, to mix and match PARs of the individual holes and difficulties of greens, to build the strategy of the play, to open up only those views to the player we wish them to see, to show them the course through our eyes, in a way we consider best is the reason Czech Golf Design was established and still exists.

Exceptional golf courses


We are different people with a common goal of wanting to create the best, flawless, well balanced and extraordinary golf courses. While we must leave the general evaluation of our performance to the others we wish to say that for us, it is enough to leave the construction site at the end of each day knowing that we all did all we could for making the course under construction the best one.

The goal of Czech Golf Development and Czech Golf Design has not changed since the day these corporations were established. It has always remained our quest for the flawless golf course – a goal resting on years of experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the play of golf.
